Don't compare yourself to other artists.

Title says it all. I lost my job after a soccer injury in August and it's still not fully healed. And I need to pay for Skyrim somehow.

I WILL NOT rush and produce lower quality just because I'm under different circumstances now. You'll get my best possible quality no matter what.

If you're a fan of Touhou, though, you probably know about that one. It's just so amazing that I had to post it no matter what. Be warned, it's instrumental rock. If you don't like rock music, you probably won't like it. Or if you're one of those people who can't listen to music that doesn't have vocals for whatever reason.

I won't go to your profile and thank you for favoriting my art or watching my profile. No, I'm not just a jerk. I AM thankful for favorites and watches. They motivate me to keep drawing even when I feel lazy or art blocked, just like any other form of praise or encouragement.

The reason I don't vocalize (type) it all is because I don't see where it's practical. When people comment on my page, thanking me for something, I usually look over them them and move on or type a half-hearted "No problem." Again, I'm grateful that people take their time to thank me, but it's not necessary. Ultimately, what will either party gain from standardized responses?

I find comments and critiques to be more worthwhile. If someone asks me a question, I'll answer it to the best of my ability. If someone requests that I offer a critique on their one of their works, I'll do so.

Also, concerning the "I'll watch you if you watch me" statements: STOP. Don't do it. I currently have over 5,000 pieces of art sitting in my inbox, and that's from people whose art I truly love and want to see more of. "I'll watch you if you watch me" seems to me like nothing more than blackmail. If I don't watch you, I don't get watched--that's no problem, but on the other hand, I'll feel like a prick for turning you down. Also, if I choose to accept the offer, I've got another few pictures to go through that I probably don't even care about. Sure, I might find one I genuinely like, but it's not worth it. If you want me to watch your profile, draw awesome pictures. You'll get fans who actually care about you and your work instead of a reluctant teenage hobbyist.

And if you want me to watch your profile, don't ask me to watch you. Comment on my art and give critiques when you can. If you present yourself as the kind of person I'd like to keep tabs on, I'll do so. Also, have good art. Even if you're not that good, I'm a total sucker for certain styles (moe/loli, anything cute or pretty, also anything epic and amazing) and characters (anyone from Touhou).

How I did it? Completed a commission and rolled my ankle (foot on a 90 degree angle compared to my leg). I can't walk for at least a week, but that means a lot of time in front of my computer. AND I won't be at work when my new computer comes. There's an upside to everything, I suppose. But it's painful. I was hospitalized earlier today, and every time my wheelchair went over a tile on the floor, it felt it in my ankle.

Also, do you know how hard it is to get in and out of the shower/car/bed/etc. with only one leg?

Funny thing about it is, I rolled it during soccer practice--a practice I'd skipped church for. I don't think I'll skip again.
